I want more!

I want more. Wanting more of everything makes us forget to be thankful of what we have. Eventually, we lose it. We should be grateful.

I wish I have more money. I wish I had a phone just like his. His car is so great compared to mine. I want to have a nice vacation just like that.

These are some of the things we all think about. We always want better things than what we have right now. We always look at what other people have and wish that we also experience what they experience.

And all of these wants make us forget that we have what we need and we are better than most people.

Better in the sense that since we are able to read this post on our phones, and found this blog on social media, we have more than what is necessary.

The phone we are using, the home we are living in, the money that comes into our lives, the food we eat, the work we have, and the people who are around us, are blessings that we should not take for granted.

We should take care of it. We should be thankful for it. We should appreciate it more by saying a little prayer every day when we wake up expressing our gratitude for all of the things that we have received.

There is nothing wrong with wanting more. Who would not want better things in life? Right? The comfort, pleasure, and leisure. The luxury, sense of entitlement, and being treated as VIP. These are great things.

Just remember not to disregard what we already have.

We see people every day on the street sleeping, begging for food, dirty and all. Imagine we are in their place. I for sure would be struggling really hard.

Or even comparing ourselves to those who earn less than us. They take public transportation and get wet when it rains. Us, we have a car. Our problem? Parking. Tsk.

How about those who could only afford to eat in fast food once a week or once a month? Us, we can do that daily. Our problem, no ketchup. Tsk.

Remember we are blessed. Whatever our situation is, we have received what we need. We should take care of it by being grateful, and kind to one another, and helping those who need our hands.

The desire for more is an inherent part of human nature. It’s normal to aspire to greater things and to admire what others possess. However, amidst these longings, it’s important to remember the blessings we already have. In our pursuit of advancement and possession, we can lose sight of the abundance in our lives. When we take a moment to reflect, we often realize that we are better off than many others.

The enduring human desire for more is deeply rooted in the essence of our being. It is only natural to yearn for greater things and to admire the possessions of others. However, within these aspirations, it is paramount to safeguard an awareness of the blessings already present in our lives. Amidst our relentless pursuit of progress and acquisition, we may inadvertently lose sight of the abundance that surrounds us. It is in the moments of quiet reflection that we often come to the profound realization that we are indeed far more fortunate than many others.

It’s essential to recognize that having access to basic necessities and modern conveniences is a privilege. Our ability to read this content on our phones, discover new information through social media, and enjoy the comfort of our homes is a testament to the richness of our lives.

Expressing gratitude for what we have is paramount. Whether it’s the phone we use, the roof over our heads, or the sustenance we receive, acknowledging these blessings through daily expressions of gratitude can inspire a profound shift in perspective. Wanting more isn’t inherently wrong; it’s human nature to seek improvement and comfort. However, balancing this with an appreciation for what we already possess is crucial.

The importance of expressing gratitude for what we have cannot be overstated. In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to overlook the blessings in our lives, whether it’s the technology that connects us, the shelter that protects us, or the nourishment that sustains us. Taking the time to consciously acknowledge these blessings through daily expressions of gratitude can lead to a profound shift in perspective. It’s not about denying the desire for improvement or comfort; rather, it’s about striking a balance between striving for more and appreciating what we already possess. This balance fosters a sense of contentment and mindfulness, allowing us to find joy in the present while still pursuing our aspirations. After all, gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all others.

It’s humbling to consider the circumstances of those less fortunate. When we witness individuals struggling to meet their basic needs, it serves as a stark reminder of the privileges we often take for granted. Empathy and compassion for those in need should guide us to appreciate our blessings and extend a helping hand to others.

In the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives, it can be easy to lose sight of the struggles that many people face. Yet, it’s important to pause and acknowledge the reality that not everyone has the same opportunities or resources. By recognizing the challenges that others encounter, we can cultivate a deeper sense of gratitude for the privileges we possess. This awareness can inspire us to utilize our abilities and resources to make a positive impact in the lives of those who are less fortunate. Kindness and generosity can create ripple effects that bring hope and relief to individuals and communities facing hardship. Let’s strive to approach each day with an open heart and a willingness to support and uplift those in need.

The desire for improvement is natural, but it shouldn’t overshadow our gratitude for what we already have. By nurturing an appreciation for our blessings and showing kindness to others, we can cultivate a mindset of abundance and contentment.
